Custom Paintings - A great gift for yourself or a loved one!
Now accepting commissions for the year of 2024. Turnaround time is about 3 months. Please read the details below about the process and email requests to sketchingsummits@gmail.com. Examples of commissions I have done in the past are in the gallery below. While many of these commissions are hiking-centered, I am open for commissions of other subject matters. I do not paint pictures of people smiling at a camera, as those do not translate well into paintings and faces are not my specialty. How it works: You provide me with reference pictures or an idea of what experience or place you would like to capture. The more reference photos provided, the better. The higher resolution reference photos, the better. No pictures? We might be able to make something work! I am happy to work with you to create an image that will capture what you are after. I can incorporate your personal hiking gear, words or phrases, or anything else you would like.
Estimated prices are below, but subject to change based on image, materials and detail required. Rush jobs may require an additional fee. A partial deposit is required for all commissions. Shipping is an additional fee. Tax is applicable in North Carolina and some additional states.

Paper: For paper commissions the painting is done on cold-pressed, archival watercolor paper. To display a paper painting, you can purchase a frame from your local frame or craft shop, or have it professionally framed to ensure your painting will remain vibrant and avoid damage from the elements. You can purchase a higher end frame with non-reflective glass if you would like to avoid a glare over your painting.
Panel (recommended): For panel commissions the painting is done on a watercolor-friendly surface on a wooden panel, similar to a canvas. This comes ready to hang, or can be placed in a cradle frame. The painting is coated in a varnish for a more vibrant and archival finish. The edges of the panel are 1”- 1.5” thick of elegant, exposed wood. No glass is needed, ensuring no interruption or reflection when viewing the image. Request a quote for your painting to come installed in a custom cradle frame.

Pet Portraits
I am not currently accepting pet portrait commissions. I only offer pet portraits on occasion so I can focus on artwork that is more on brand for my business. The best way to hear when I am accepting pet portrait commissions again is to follow my Instagram, but feel free to shoot me an email to check in.
Live painting pet portrait events are posted on my events page. A discounted rate is provided when you attend a live painting event for your pet portrait.
Simple pet portraits are available for commission at a rate of $60 per portrait. These are 8”x8” watercolor paintings on paper with no background. A $5 shipping fee is applied. Please scroll through this gallery for examples of my simple pet portraits.
Refined pet portraits may also be commissioned. These pet portraits are more detailed, are available in a variety of sizes, and include background details upon request. Please email me at sketchingsummits@gmail.com and we will work through the details you would like to be included. The rate for these paintings are the same as my other custom painting offerings:

Digital Commissions - Colorful artwork for your small business needs!
I am now accepting commissions for digital artwork for the year of 2024 with an estimated turn around time of 2 months. Digital artwork is best for a small business needing a custom sticker or t-shirt design, book illustration, beer can labels, or other similar products that involve some back and forth and changes along the way. Digital work can be done in limited color palettes, perfect for screen printed t-shirt designs. Please email sketchingsummits@gmail.com for a quote on your custom project.
